Since Traci set it up...

Step Afrika! at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro on March 2, 2007



"Pledgies" for Chi Rho, daydreaming about their fly Greek shirts and the subsequent pairs of panties that will be thrown at them.



Proving their worth through step.



In this segment of the show, several volunteers from the audience are selected to come on stage and be taught how to step. Fun and smiles with a variety of meanings behind them abounded.



A preacher prepares to pull on his African gum boots and dance to "Deep River" and "Wade in the Water" in a performance where Step Afrika combines traditional Southern spirituals with the power of step.









South African mine workers in their gum boots, chanting and stomping in a fleeting moment outside the mines.





"Is that your girlfriend over there? Perhaps if you dance for her, she will think you are HOT."
"Yes, yes! She will think you are sex-see."





The troupe prepares for one final dance, this time in modern stepping style.
